Wordless Wednesday ~ Halloween Fun

The kids had a blast and the weather held out for us to do some Trick or Treating this year. The Darth Vader voice changer mask was a hit with all the adults and kids on our trip around the neighborhood. P was asked to talk more at a bunch of houses as they wanted to hear the mask again. A was a "Monster High" Witch as she made a new Monster High. They had a lot of fun and got a treat bag full of candy. I hope everyone had a fabulous Halloween!

Halloween is right around the corner, yikes! Where did the month go? Sweet Halloween Treats from Hasbro

For the last couple of years we have opted to hand out some other treats to the Trick or Treaters that arrive at our house before we head out with the kids. Usually these are the smaller children with their adorable costumes. Our children love to hand out some treats and we have given out small containers of Play-Doh the last couple Halloweens.

This Summer Get Soaked with Nerf!

Now that the hot weather is here to stay for a bit they kids are always looking for fun ways to stay cool. Each summer the kids can't wait to pull out the Nerf water guns and this summer isn't any different.

There are some fun new Nerf water toys out this season! Check out the new Nerf Super Soaker Barrage. This is one major soaker that will be guaranteed to soak your friends from head to toe. The chamber holds up to 84 ounces of water! It is BIG! Even though it is big it is easy to pump and fire. Be prepared it is a bit heavy when full but my 8 year old boy had no problems chasing his sister around the yard with this soaker! P loves that it has 3 soaking modes and they are easily changed by a turn of the nozzle. He was able to do this while chasing his sister and myself.  Get ready to hit targets up to 38 feet away with the Distance mode!

For A the new Nerf Rebelle Dolphina Bow Blaster was a HUGE hit. She absolutely loves it. Once she got the hang of holding it upright when pulling the lever back then pushing it forward she was great. Chasing her brother around to "soak" him was a blast also. It has an easy to load chamber that holds up to 25 ounces of water.

I know the kids will have a Blast this summer with the new Nerf Soakers!

Celebrate Easter with Hasbro!

My kids are super excited for Easter as I am sure your own are also! I have heard about the Easter bunny numerous times over the last month and my kids actually sat down and wrote a letter to him!

Each year the kids get to go on their egg hunt and they both receive a special basket from the Easter bunny along with a couple fun toys. 

This year the kids are going to find a few of their favorite toys from Hasbro Canada. 

Play-Doh is one of my daughters favorite activities and she loves to bake. She can sit and play with Play-Doh for hours on end. Making mommy tasty treats. Glad these are good for my waistline :) When she saw there was a new Sweet Shoppe she got really excited and asked me many times about getting it for herself.

March Break Fun with Hasbro!

The kids officially kicked off March Break Thursday afternoon as they had a PA day on Friday. "A" was excited to see a few new items waiting in the living room for her and P. Right away she went to the My Little Pony Flip & Whirl Rainbow Dash. A tore into the box and played with her new Rainbow Dash all afternoon. The pony went everywhere even to bed. A tucked in Rainbow Dash right beside her in bed. Flip & Whirl Rainbow Dash I have been told is Flippin Awesome! Sit Rainbow Dash down and she will do back flips. We had fun taking a few pictures of her flipping! This toy does require 1 AAA battery but comes with one.

P jumped right on the Nerf Reblle Heartbreaker Bow Blaster (even with its pink & purple darts) He was okay running around the house sending off darts this way and that way! One whizzing passed my neck and hitting the counter as I prepped dinner. Boys, eh? This has been one of his favorite Nerf toys. He even went on a hunting mission. The bow includes 5 collectible darts and can be shot up to 75 feet away.

Ready for the kids to sit down and play nicely? How about a game of Mousetrap? This was a fun experience as we each raced to traps another ones mouse. The kids had a blast the first time we played on the weekend and have played it a couple times more. I can see this being one of my daughters favorite games that she will be requesting a lot. It is a race to trap the first mouse to win! A one the first time and P decided we needed a rematch! The games went on for another hour.

March Break: KRE-O Transformers Beast Hunters Beast Blade Optimus

My son loves to build things, he really can spend hours putting things together, taking them apart and rebuilding. He is also pretty quick at building Kre-o sets.

This March break why not surprise your builder with the Kre-o Transformer Beast Hunters Beast Blade Optimus Prime? This set is geared for children ages 7-14.

This Kre-o Transformer kit comes with 251 bricks and other construction pieces to build an Optimus Prime robot! It also includes two Kreon figures that are ready to help fight the bad guys. The fun with this kit is that you can build and rebuild Optimus Prime from a robot to his truck. The Kreon figures fit inside and are ready to go on a wild ride.

My son was super excited to get started with this set. He first build the figures and the Energon Kicker Kreon. He then got started on building Optimus Prime. He loves being able to rebuild Optimus Prime into a truck and then back again. This kit really has been hours of fun since it arrived at our house. Sometimes P needs help taking apart the bricks but for the most part he can do the whole set himself.

March Break: Angry Birds Star Wars Millennium Falcon Bounce Game

Today I have another fun activity for March Break to share with you. If you have some Angry Birds and Star Wars fans in the house get them ready to play Angry Birds Star Wars Millennium Falcon bounce game by Hasbro. 

What could be more fun than launching Angry Birds that are designed into your favorite Star Wars characters? The object of the game is to launch the bird balls at the Millennium Flacon target and knock over the pigs! When you land your balls in the center and cockpit you earn points and the first to score 30,000 points wins the game! 

This game includes 3 bird balls - Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca and Han Solo bird balls, the Millennium Falcon target, base, 5 cardboard pigs, 5 plastic stands and label sheets. This game is recommended for ages 8+.  For 1 or more players and adult assembly is required.

Our thoughts: This game is a lot of fun for the Angry Birds fans. My son loved trying to knock over the pigs while also aiming to get his bird into the center to work his way to 30,000 points. It is very quick to set up and can be played with one person or more. I also love that there are no batteries. The one down side was it does take time to do the assembly, putting stickers on the ship and popping out the cardboard pieces. I also had stickers I wasn't sure where they went, so I let the kids decorate the ship. I think it would be great if it came with them already on the ship. This game is sure to keep kids busy for hours on end.

March Break Fun: Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Frosting Fun Bakery set

This week I will be sharing some fun March Break ideas from Hasbro Canada. My daughter loves Play-Doh and couldn't wait to open up the Sweet Shoppe Frosting Fun Bakery set.

This is a great set for the lil bakers in the family. It is a easy and fun way for kids to play with their food! If you ask my daughter what her favorite thing to do is, she will answer with "baking cupcakes". This set comes with everything you would need to have some Play-Doh baking fun over the March Break holidays. It includes a 2-piece extruder, shelf, tray, cake stand, turntable, display dome, 4 cake cutters, 4 extruder tips, cupcake liner, cake server, plate, plastic knife, fork, 2 two-ounce cans of Play-Doh modeling compound and 2 two-ounce cans of Play-Doh Plus compound. It does require adult assembly but guess what? no batteries required!

Our thoughts: Play-Doh is always a huge hit with my kids especially with my daughter. This set was especially a hit as it is all about baking and that is one of her favorite activities. This set was super easy to put together and A got started with baking a cake right away! She spent at least 2 hours playing with it after opening it. She loves the Play-Doh plus as it is easy to push through the piping tube to make frosting. She also loves the cutters. There are tons of molds, frosting tips, cutters to be super creative with.

A New Monopoly Piece?

Did you know that the Monopoly game dates back to 1934? Neither did I but since hearing the recent news I thought I would look up some Monopoly facts. 

• The Official board game of Monopoly by Parker Brothers in 1934. There were numerous games similar, one called The Landlords Game in 1923.
• In 1967 while finishing off a $2 million train robbery, the trains hijackers played a game of Monopoly with the stolen money.
• In 1970's Nieman-Marcus offered an all chocolate version of the game. This version was made to the exact size of the actual game, including chocolate houses, chocolate hotels, and etc. Retail cost for this set? try $600.
• Two University of Michigan students painted an 8 x 8 foot Monopoly board on their dormitory ceiling and played the game using helium-filled balloons as tokens

The Amazing Spider-Man Web Battlers - Ages 4+. These awesome assortment of action figures each have their very own attack method. This one has whips his webs all around when you squeeze the legs together! So much fun for any kid that loves Spider-Man!

The Amazing Spider-Man Hydro Attack - Ages 4+. These fun little action figures are part of the comic series and include an underwater mask along with pop-out glider wings! So many hours of great imaginative play! My kids love these!

The Amazing Spider-Man Mega Blaster Web Shooter - Ages 5+. Your kids will be just like Spider-Man shooting webs all over the place! This toy is better for outside fun, great for the summer as it shoots web fluid and also has a refillable water chamber! The web fluid refills can be purchased separately.

Last but not least, The Amazing Spider-Man Spider Strike Battle Racer - Ages 4+. This has been a huge hit with my son. He loves cars for his action figures and most of his Spider-Mans (he has a lot now) can be used in it! The Spider-Man that comes with it though can swing out of the top of the car by pressing the spoiler on the back of the car! The first time we did this both of my kids were in awe.
