Review:

Another great book in the Ice Series. I was so excited to read this book and follow Courtney & Josh on their journey to skate at the Olympics. That has been both of their dreams for years and even more so as they have become a couple on and off the ice. These stories do really need to be read in order but they are super easy and quick reads. I have read both of Jennifer Comeaux figure skating series.  I love how they are a nice clean romance when you want a light fun read, a YA love story. I also love the figure skating books! The author does a fabulous job of getting you into the story, and feeling the characters emotions. I always feel like I can really imagine the skating performances while they are happening. I really like the main characters in this series and find myself starting to like Josh's sister Stephanie in this one. All the character has really grown up and so how mature they are now.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

Stars On Ice 25th Anniversary & Jergens Giveaway!

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Stars on Ice! Can you imagine 25 years already. It doesn't feel that long ago when I saw the very first Stars on Ice with Scott Hamilton and Kurt Browning. Wow, does the time ever fly by! I was super excited to get an email asking if I would like to attend this event with my family on behalf of Jergens. I couldn't pass up the opportunity! My son and I went a couple years ago and he loved it and the minute he heard we were going this year he took a walk down memory lane.

Jeffrey Buttle gets the energy going in this house with his performance to Uptown Funk. Everyone was bopping along to the music. Shawn Sawyer as always puts on such an amazing performance and of course does his back flip! Kurt Browning is still killing it on the ice! I remember watching him perform when I was little and even being at competetions that he was at. He still has it, captivating and just fabulous, even his backflip!  They have an amazing cast that to watch this year that it is so hard to pick a favorite part.

If you get a chance to head out to Stars on Ice it surely is a must see for the whole family!

    Review:

Another fabulous book by Jennifer Comeaux. I was hooked from the start as I am with any of Jennifer's figure skating novels. There is just something about them that draws me in and brings back skating memories of the past. This is the second book in the series following Courtney and Josh as they have begun their relationship and their skating relationship. Of course not everything goes the way it should during their first competition and has the couple in trying times just before nationals. This is a fabulous sweet romance of two pair skaters fighting for their skating career together but also fighting to show that they are meant to be together even if Josh's family doesn't approve. I can't wait to read what is in store for the rest of the series!

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars! A quick and easy read. Lots of fun for the figure skating crowd!

A Ottawa Senators Inspired Scarf ~ Knitting

My son and hubby are both obsessed with the Ottawa Senators hockey team. They will put on their jerseys and sit through the game on tv cheering for their team or booing when the other team gets a goal.

Since my son loves to wear Senator clothing - t-shirts, sweaters, socks and his beloved baseball hat. I decided that he needed a Ottawa Senators inspired knitted scarf to go with his winter hat.

This was a very simple knitted scarf that beginners can do easily. If you know how to cast on, knit stitch, and cast off you can do this scarf!

The total size of this scarf is 50 inches long. Gauge doesn't matter in this pattern. I used a Worsted weight yarn (4).

Cast on 20 stitches in your desired color. I started with black as this was going to be the "main" color. Using the Knit stitch knit for 2 1/2 inches then attach the next color (gold)
Knit 6 rows of knit stitch in gold then attach next color (Red)
Knit 12 rows of Knit stitch then attach next color (White)
Knit 12 rows of Knit stitch then attach your main color (Black)
    Knit this for 35 inches

Then you will be doing your colors backwards with the same about of knit rows - white, red, gold and then black and knit the last color for 2 1/2 inches and bind off.

There you have it an easy Hockey inspired kids scarf!  Happy Knitting!
