Attending ShesConnected in Toronto #SCCTO

After arriving and checking into our hotel room with early check in. We ventured into the ShesConnected Conference. I would like to Thank Donna Marie Antoniadis and Mark Grindeland for being invited to this by invite only conference. It has been a great honour to be chosen as 1 of 200 Canadian Women influencers of Social Media. I also want to Thank Samara and Melissa of KidZoomer for sponsoring Alyssa and I on our trip to Toronto!

ShesConnected Conference started out around 11am by signing in with my ticket and heading into the Networking area where all the brands had set up tables with their goodies. They were waiting to meet all the great Digital Women that would be attending ShesConnected!
I was able to network with some wonderful people from the following brands -

After networking with the brands we headed into the conference area where the learning began. We listened to some great speakers and panelist from all these great companies and also bloggers that have been blogging for years and also upcoming bloggers.

Friday morning I was very happy to have breakfast with Co-founder of Mabel's Labels @JulieCole, also @AMotherhoodBlog, @Chancesmommy, @aaricamakeupblg, @MapleLeafMommy, @MilkandCoco, and @_littlemisskate.

Day two included some of the following topics - What brands want from bloggers and digital women, Product Reviews vs. Blog Tours vs. Brand Ambassador Programs, Social Media Rock stars: Verteran, New and rising stars, What is a Blogger worth?, Rate Cards, Guidelines, & Disclosure, and The 10 Rules of the Road, putting it all together.

As I sat there taking in all the speakers and panelist, I had a whole bunch of ideas spinning around in my head for blog posts. I am hoping I can work on them on my vacation. I have holidays starting Saturday! I only have to work on the 11th but after that I am off until the 19th.

I had a great time traveling with Alyssa and meeting tons of people from Twitter that I have chatted with, and lots I have not. I was also excited to meet bloggers who I have been reading their blogs since before I even started blogging.

So many pictures, I just may have to do another post. Here is one last shot for this post with some great ladies - @GGirlGGreen, @momvstheboys and @AMotherhoodBlog.

If I have missed anyone of you wonderful people I am sorry, please send me a DM or email and I will add you :)

CORRECTION: Free Glade Sense & Spray

Correction -  I am sooo sorry I missed the fine print. This offer is only valid in Quebec! Sorry to the rest of Canada this is for our Quebec friends only. Usually they are the ones left out.  I guess this is why one shouldn't blog when tired and only starting a morning coffee. I will make it up to everyone!

Head over to Websaver.ca and pick up your coupon to try a Glade Sense & Spray for Free! These ones look very decorative and I am sure smell great. I am hoping to find a holiday scent sense & spray to use my coupon with. Enjoy!

Traveling to ShesConnected #sccto

I am back from the ShesConnected Conference that was held at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto! It was a fun filled packed two days! I don't even know where to begin, I know I will have a few up coming post about this conference and about my next one in a week and a half. I also have a ton of other posts to get posted - reviews, giveaways, family posts, tips on saving money and events. Check back regularly and I am sure there will be something new almost everyday (now that I put that out there I hope to push myself to finish everything I want to share with you).

On September 29th, 2011 I was up and moving early (about 5:15) to be able to leave with hubby at 6 when he leaves for work. I wanted to spend a few minutes with him before heading out on the train and also save some money. The train was coming in  at 6:31 am and I did not want to miss it that's for sure.

It has been years since I have been on a train and the first time since our new "Little" station was built just this past summer. When I say little I mean little, there is really only seating for maybe 7 people tops! When the train stopped they overshot the station that is how little it is, hehe. I had to get on at car 4 and walk up to car 3 to get on the train with Alyssa from A Motherhood Experience. The ride up was comfortable and a lot of fun traveling with a buddy especially Alyssa who I have known for years! Don't forget complimentary WiFi! Yay there was LOTS of tweeting going on!
When we arrived in Toronto we headed out to walk to the Sheraton Centre as it was a close walk. About 15 minutes. The streets in Toronto are not suitcase friendly though with all the bumps and street car tracks. Also people don't really like to move out of the suitcase way and they can be hard to steer when you are not used to traveling.

The Sheraton Centre is Huge! With a two story waterfall in the middle of the hotel! Tons of shops and restaurants, conference rooms and 42 or 43 floors of rooms! We were on floor 34, that was bad enough for my ears every time I was up or down the elevator my ears would pop. I wont fly anytime soon that is for sure!
The rooms where not bad at all. We had to big double beds with a big screen TV (not that we had much time for that on our trip). We did have a nice night view out our window, during the day you could see construction.
I will break my trip up into a few posts so not have super long posts. My next post will be about the ShesConnected Conference itself and who I met!

Until then, do you follow Canadian Coupon Mom on Twitter or Facebook? I post there usually daily, conversations and new post links. You can also subscribe to my email newsletter for updates on new posts, it can be found up on the left hand side of the home page :)

Have a good Sunday evening!

Happy 4th Birthday A!

This past weekend we celebrated A's 4th Birthday!

Four years ago at 8:06am on September 25th,2007 Miss A blessed us with her presence. I can't even start to explain how I feel now about having two school aged children and no more babies in the house. Some days I really miss those little feet and tiny kisses but I also love the interaction I get from P (who is 5) and A (now 4). Sigh.

Another milestone hit and many more to come. This will be quite the adventure I am sure as my children are very night and day. Two very different human beings who I love so very much! I stopped on Sunday night and returned back to them to give them one more hug and kiss before they fell asleep. The time really does fly by way to fast!

Coupon Clutch Review & $50 Gift Card Giveaway

This giveaway is over but you can purchase from Coupon Clutch using COUPONMOM at checkout to save 10% on your order. This coupon does not expire.

Using coupons combined with sales is the best way to save money but time and time again I have people tell me that they either lose the coupons before they can use them, they expire or forget them at home. I have found a great solution. This will take a little bit of time to organize in the beginning but once it is set up, it is then all about remembering to add new coupons right away before they pile up.

Introducing the Coupon Clutch! This is stepping up the average coupon binder and making it stylish and handy all in one. The Coupon Clutch is a binder cover with handles that was designed by Denise, a mom of five, to make it easier to organize and carry her coupons while grocery shopping with kids. These totes are made by an army of sewers at home in the US.

The Coupon Clutch fits a 2" regular binder that you can buy pretty much anywhere - Walmart, Dollarstore, Staples, Zellers etc. Then comes the customizing of coupon sheets. These are like the trading card sheets that you may have used when you were a kid to store sports cards. Coupon Clutch has these available also for a great price - $3.95 for a 10 pack. You can choose your pockets either 3,4,6 or 9.
Do you have a 3" binder? Denise can make you a custom binder cover to fit a 3" binder for those who may want a bigger binder. Right now I have a 2" with 9 pockets each sleeve.

I received the Owl pattern tote and right away noticed how well made the whole cover is made. The stitching is very secure, and precise. The material is very thick,  includes soft padded outer cover and two pockets in the inside front. I love how it is easily closes with Velcro on the sides (actually the top and bottom of your binder). It is very easy to fit in the binder, I found that you need to open your binder way back and put both front and back in the cover at the same time. Easiest way for me to put the cover on.

I felt very comfortable with my new coupon clutch tote while shopping with the kids. It fits nicely on the top part of the cart, easy to open and close and the kids even love carrying it. I also feel good when you enter a store that sells binders. I always felt that someone would think I was stealing it. Now my binder is a VERY Cute tote! I also love that Coupon Clutches are made by people at home not in a factory!
Where to Buy: Visit Coupon Clutch to pick from 35 patterns at $29.95 each! You can pick up coupon pocket sleeves also for $3.95

Where to Connect: Love Twitter? Follow @CouponClutch for updates, giveaways and offers!

Win!

Luxe Box Review & Giveaway

Are you a beauty product nut? Do you love trying out different products only to be left with less money and tons of half used products? We are trying to save money, right? There is a great way to try out products without going to the department store for testers.

Luxe Box by Loose Button is a great way to check out all kinds of beauty product samples in the comfort of you own home. Luxe Box is a subscription service that is sent monthly to your house with 4-5 beauty product samples. Now these samples are not just your average samples, they are deluxe sized samples of high quality beauty products. I am very reluctant to buy beauty products when I haven't tried or known someone that loves the product, especially those with a big price tag. We are all in the same boat trying to pay bills and enjoying life at the same time!

Solution? Click on over to Luxe Box by Loose Button and sign up for their monthly beauty box. Loose Button only uses the best of the best beauty products available, Elizabeth Grant, Pureminerals, Lancome, Cheeky Monkey just to name a few.

When you sign up for Luxe Box, which is only available in Canada at the moment, you will be asked to fill in a beauty profile for the beauty specialist to customize your Luxe Box for your skin tone.

You can sign up for 3 different options - monthly for $12, 3 months for $36 or a full year for $120 (this means 2 months FREE) all include free shipping!

I received the September Luxe Box from Loose Button and was very happy and surprised to see the custom letters to me! This is what the box looked like.

The shipping is within a week and they send you a tracking number to see where it is in delivery. This month's box included a sample of Moroccan Oil hair treatment, City Lips by City Cosmetics - this is a plumping lip treatment that I love and look forward to using at ShesConnected and Blissdom Canada Conferences, Perfecting Water by Rich and a Face + Neck treatment by Mereadesso.
I was very happy with my September box, the only dislike, I like bottle samples not one time samples in a tear pack. Only one in this months box other than that the samples are pretty generous! I love that you can easily throw them in your purse or travel bag for on the go beauty. My favourite products this month? City Lips - lip plumping treatment and the Moroccan Oil which leaves your hair hydrated with a lightweight silky texture. Both of these products will be used to the end and I am sure I will be on a look out to pick up the full size of each of these. Side note the City Lips feels very weird when it starts working make sure your little girls don't get a hold of it.

I heard that Luxe Box will be involved with ShesConnected conference next week and I am very excited to see what is in store for all the great digitally connected women that will be attending this great sounding event!

Where to Buy: Visit Loose Button's Website.

Where to Connect: On Twitter and on Facebook.

Win!

Last year was the first year that Mushroom Farmers came together for this great cause and raised a grand total of $61,128.81!!!!

This year they are at it again, so when you are doing groceries in any of the following grocery stores look for the PINK tray and add it to your cart! (September 19-November 11,2011)
