L'Oreal Hair Expertise Fibralogy Hair Care Line ~ Review

I have always had time flat hair. I just wasn't graced with that beautiful thick hair my father had. I have always tried everything on the market to thicken my hair or give it some volume. I have found a few that do as they say but a lot of them didn't work for my hair. I recently had the opportunity to check out L'Oreal's new hair expertise Fibralogy hair care line and I was excited to give it a try.

This is a 3 step system that really is quick and easy to use in the shower and can be used daily. Learn more about the shampoo & conditioner & booster below!

A new science for hair fibre is born.  L’Oreal Paris Fibralogy haircare thickens hair wash after wash, and expands the diameter of the hair fibre for voluptuous-looking hair! Our breakthrough thickening haircare contains filloxane, an innovative molecule that penetrates the fibre and helps increase its diameter from within. Hair is thicker and feels fuller.
First Shampoo, rinse and add the booster, a little goes a long ways. You then leave in the booster and condition as normal. Rinse both the booster and conditioner off and you are ready to go for the day. I really like this system but the downside I find with the booster is that my daughter thinks it looks fun to play with. She said it looks like lipstick and of course played with it one day. The lid came loose and most of it ran out.

InstaWave Automatic Curler ~ Review ~ Gift Idea

I have pin straight hair but have always loved to curl my hair. I have tried many ways and all have been really successful as my hair loves to curl. I stopped curling my kids once I got busy with having kids and working full time. I recently was asked to try out the Kiss Instawave curling iron and I wanted to share my thoughts on it as I think it would make a great Christmas gift.

I was a little apprehensive to try out this curler as I was afraid to get it stuck in my hair but I was surprised at how easy it was to use. I did have to play with it the first time to learn which way the curl dial turns and pulls the hair in especially when doing the other side you need to flip the switch the other way. Once I figured it out I was on my way to having fabulous curls. I find the more I use it the better the curls are getting. It is simple and quick which is what I love the most.

It is fast and easy. Simple as 1-2-3. Heat, curl and spray. I actually like to spray my hair with hairspray or gel before curling but that is because I find it works better for my thin hair. I guess you will need to play around with what works for your hair best.

In the end I had some soft bouncy curls that I just love!

I was really amazed at how quickly these products went to fixing the dry ends I have along with my frizzy bangs. I found my hair softer, smoother and bouncy within a couple uses. I will say I love the hair butter. With all these products I found a little bit goes a long way especially with the hair butter! I also thought that I put a bit too much on my hair the first time but it didn't even look oily. I found that the scent is fresh and light and my hubby loves the smell. He smelled my hair after the first time I used it and asked if I changed shampoos.

Bringing the Classic Bun Back with Goody & a Giveaway! (Canada)

The Bun is back! Okay for me it never really left. I always wear my hair up especially at work, when the kids were babies/little and when it is super hot. I also love to wear my hair half up when I am going out. Goody has been making it super easy for me to style my hair since I can remember. My mom always bought Goody elastics, bobby pins or hair barrettes for me.

I used to figure skate and loved to wear the metallic elastics. They held my hair back and didn't usually pull when removing them. I also remember one of my favorite combs was a Goody detangle comb. Goody now has an awesome new Detangle brush called TangleFix

My daughter loves the TangleFix and calls it her space brush. She dislikes HATES her hair being brushed so anything that actually helps her want to brush is good in my books.
I love the new bun crock screw pin as it is super simple to place in a bun and holds my thin hair in place. It is fancy enough to wear out on date night but also can be worn during the day.

The new Softies are just perfect for little girls and they really do hold in place. My daughter is growing her bangs out to make side bangs and these have been great during soccer to keep her bangs out of her eyes.

A New Do for A

Thin hair runs in my family, well to be exact it runs on my moms side. My father had awesome thick hair. Never lost any and only started to get grey in his late 40's or early 50's if I remember correctly. My mom on the other hand has always been on the lookout for shampoos and styling products to make her hair fuller and much thicker. I too was stuck with the thin straight hair, I also started to go grey in my early 20's!

My daughter, A also has thin pin straight hair but she also has the best naturally highlighted hair that you could ask for! She has had many comments on how people would die or pay for hair like hers. It is very true, women spend thousands to keep their hair perfectly highlighted and with A, it comes naturally.

With thin hair comes many problems and even more when you have long hair. A has her hair WAY down her back and almost touching her bottom, she is only 4 years old. Putting her hair up into pony tails has always been a challenge for a number of reasons. First A doesn't like her hair brushed, and because it is thin it will knot easily. Also if she doesn't wear clips in the sides and front the little hairs get in her face.

I have had people tell me to take her to the hair dressers and get bangs. Okay I have thought of that a number of times but A wont let many people near her with a brush let alone scissors. This would be a huge task for a hair dresser.

Recently I did a review on a great hair product that I use often called CreaClip (if you didn't read the review please do check it out, I love this product!). It has saved me tons of money as I do my hair at home all the time now even to do my side bangs.

I decided today was a hair trim day for me and I would also trim A's hair as it hasn't been done in awhile and maybe just maybe she would allow me to try out the CreaClip and give her bangs!

When I asked A to find the hair brush as I wanted to do her hair she surprisingly went and got the brush very fast and set up her chair.

I brushed all the tangles out and trimmed an inch off her hair. Simple quick and looks very nice. Now to the challenge, the bangs. I asked A if I could cut her hair so she would have bangs, right away I got a no but I reminded her of her friend S and her cute bangs. A then agreed to try them out.

Here is a before picture:
A with her blanket getting ready for her new do!
Now on to cousin it...
Just look at those highlights!
And the new do! Ta Da!!

After I was done A went into my bedroom to look in our big mirror. All I hear coming from my bedroom was "I am a different person!" and then tons of giggles! She loves it and couldn't wait to show her friend S and can't wait until school to show it off to the rest of her friends.
