Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle, Movie Review

George is asked to take part in a space mission, and when things go wrong, he crash lands in Africa.

Released in June 2015.

Cast includes, John Goodman, Angela Bassett, and Frank Welker.

Running time is 1hr 21min.

Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle, can be purchased on amazon and walmart.

Our review:

Curious George is a favorite in our home, so I had no doubts my children would be excited to receive this to review.

George is asked to take part in a space mission, but upon return he gets a bit lost and in his typical George fashion makes new friends and new memories on his journey through africa as he reconnects with the man in the yellow hat.

George makes his usual mischief and my animal obsessed two year old loved watching George interact with his new friends in the jungle.

I as a parent actually enjoyed this installment more than the second, but shh, don't tell my kids that ;)

Tomorrowland ~ Available on Digital HD & Blu-ray Combo Pack ~ Review

Dreamers Wanted…Disney invites you to an incredible world of epic imagination where anything is possible. Buckle your seat belt, as the director of The Incredibles takes your family on an action-packed thrill ride.

Join former boy genius Frank (George Clooney), optimistic, science-minded teen Casey (Britt Robertson), mysterious Athena (Raffey Cassidy) and the brilliant David Nix (Hugh Laurie) in a world of pure Disney imagination. Tomorrowland transports you on an inspiring and magical journey of wonder and adventure to a place where if you can dream it, you can do it.

Review:

The whole family enjoyed this film. The kids are 8 and 9 and both of them were very involved into this film. The cast is great and the kids loved seeing what Tomorrowland looked like. It is sort of one of those futuristic type films, where you travel in time with a touch of a pin. I enjoyed watching the bonus features because I am a geek like that and enjoy watching behind the scenes and interviews.
A great movie for movie night for the whole family.

Review: (This review was written by Abby)

I love this movie because its about HALLOWEEN!!!  It has Halloween episodes with the Littlest Pet Shop gang. My favorite characters are Zoie and Blythe.  In one of the episodes, Blythe had to take care of Russell for a night at the littlest pet shop.  When Russell had to stay at the littlest pet shop with Blythe they had a lot of fun. Two pets from the littlest pet shop heard that Russell got to stay at the littlest pet shop for a night. Inside the DVD package you will get a Penny pumpkin carving stencil.

Review: (This was written by Derek)

Star Wars Complete Vehicles is an in depth look at over 50 different spaceships and craft from all over the Star Wars universe. With a close partnership from the Lucasfilm art department, this book contains hundreds of accurately detailed colour illustrations.

The book breaks groups into movie titles and includes all 6 current episodes. The artwork is highly detailed in its appearance and offers a detailed labeling of parts. Each vehicle is tied into the corresponding movie with a few paragraphs and some action captures as well. It is not all X-wings, Star destroyers and tie fighters however. There is plenty on some of the more obscure as well. The Hyperdrive booster, being one of these, contains a listing of the proper docking procedure and the buss droid explains the attacking method. The book also contains a quick reference guide and glossary.

If you are interested in the Star Wars galaxy this is a book for you. I give it 4 out of 5 stars
.

Review: (This review was written by Derek)

Star Wars Year by year covers the last 40 years of this iconic franchise. From the influences in the world which inspired this storied franchise, to a year by year breakdown of Star Wars moments, this book has it covered.

Do you want to know what happened the you were born? Married? Other important life events? It's in there; (Kenner ships the first four action figure's the month I was born). There are loads common and not so common tidbits about the ideas, processes, development and releases of the series. There are also excellent tie ins with real world events (George Lucas's legal issues with the use of "Star Wars" as the name of a missile defense program). Lots of colour photo covering all things Star Wars makes this a visually pleasing experience. Each year begins with an interesting point, and is separated nicely by months. I found the amount of information was excellent but did not read like a history book although that is exactly what it is. I would strongly recommend this book to the Star Wars fans of all levels as it has something for everyone.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

Released theatrically in 1980, and celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, this charming movie was the fourth feature-length film made with Charles Schulz’s beloved Peanuts characters and was a product of the long-time collaboration between Schulz, animation director Bill Melendez and producer Lee Mendelson.  Together, these three helped create all of the Peanuts animated television specials and feature films, starting with A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1969.

The BON VOYAGE, CHARLIE BROWN (AND DON’T COME BACK!!) Strange Magic on DVD ~ Review

Strange Magic is a music-filled fairy tale about finding true love in the unlikeliest of places. It is a new animated film from Lucas film Ltd., featuring popular songs from the past six decades to help tell the tale of a colorful cast of characters, including a princess who has sworn off love, a dubious villain, a slightly nutty Sugar Plum Fairy, a tenacious elf, a mischievous imp, and a knight who is no Prince Charming. Bring Home the enchanting tale the whole family can enjoy.

Review: (This review was written by my 7 yr old daughter)

I liked Strange Magic because I love that Dawn and her sister sing songs and are fairies! I love the Songs in this movie! My mom loves the songs also as a lot are ones she listened to when she was a kid. My favourite songs are 1: I want to dance. 2:Strange Magic. 3:I am falling in love with you. 4: Never fall in love again.
In the movie there two girls and a animal and bad guys. The one girl, Marion, had her heart broken and then she falls in love with a bad guy. After they fall in love he turns into a good guy. He really was a good guy at heart from the start. The Elf went to the dark forest. No one has been there before except the bad guys who have taken down all the rose petals because they didn't want the Sugar Plum Fairy to make anymore love portions. One time the bad guy fell in love with another creature because the Sugar Plum Fairy gave him a love portion. This portion didn't work for the bad guy so he trapped the Sugar Plum Fairy and locked her away.
The bad guy hates singing but his mother loves to sing to him.
I give Strange Magic five stars. COOL!!!
YAY!YAY! BYE AMIGO!!!
I HAVE PIC TO GIVE YOU!!

Review: (This review has been written by Addi, 7 years old)

I like the movie because it is funny when I watched it I laugh so hard I snorted. I was home for school sick when I watched MAYA THE BEE MOVIE!!!!
Maya came out of the hive to early for her age.  Maya likes to talk a lot. A girl bee put Maya back in the hive because she wasn't allowed out yet. They did not watch Maya and she left the hive again. The Queen and the Queen's helper called Maya the wrong name.. The Queen's helper is really bad and was trying to take over the Queen's place in the hive. Maya makes a friend by the name of Flip who is a little silly. Also Maya meets another bee who can dance. Maya makes a few friends on her adventure back to the hive.
YAY!!!

Disney Pixar Inside Out ~ Review

Last night the family had the opportunity to attend the new Disney Pixar film called Inside Out. This is a very cute family film about the voice in our heads. More so the emotions that we can feel.

About the movie:

Do you ever look at someone and wonder what is going on inside their head? Disney•Pixar’s original new film “Inside Out” ventures inside the mind to find out.

Based in Headquarters, the control center inside 11-year-old Riley’s mind, five Emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy (voice of Amy Poehler), whose mission is to make sure Riley stays happy. Fear (voice of Bill Hader) heads up safety, Anger (voice of Lewis Black) ensures all is fair and Disgust (voice of Mindy Kaling) prevents Riley from getting poisoned—both physically and socially. Sadness (voice of Phyllis Smith) isn’t exactly sure what her role is, and frankly, neither is anyone else.

When Riley's family relocates to a scary new city, the Emotions are on the job, eager to help guide her through the difficult transition. But when Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley’s mind—taking some of her core memories with them—Fear, Anger and Disgust are left reluctantly in charge. Joy and Sadness must venture through unfamiliar places—Long Term Memory, Imagination Land, Abstract Thought and Dream Productions—in a desperate effort to get back to Headquarters, and Riley.

Directed by Academy Award® winner Pete Docter ("Monsters, Inc.", "Up"), produced by Jonas Rivera, p.g.a. ("Up") and featuring an original score by Michael Giacchino ("The Incredibles," "Ratatouille," "Up"), Disney•Pixar's "Inside Out" opens in theatres on June 19, 2015.

Review:

Absolute favourite movie for the whole family! I don't even know where to start with this film, I found this to be one of the better films I have watched with the kids lately. One of the main reasons I liked is that it is geared for the whole family, everyone in the theatre laughing not just the kids! It is a great learning movie for children about their emotions, teaching kids that it is okay to have all of these emotions (fear, anger, disgust, joy and sadness) and that they do work together. We do need sadness in out head to help us also experience joy. One our drive home I asked the kids what their favourite parts of the movie were and both of them said it was really hard to choose as they loved the whole movie. My son did love when we got to see dads emotions!

My daughter gets very emotional during films and there were a couple times I thought she would totally burst into a crying fit but she was good and held onto it until we got into the parking lot and let the tears roll! I did find some spots sad so this is my fair warning! All in all the whole family loved this movie, even dad said he really enjoyed it!

If you get the chance to head out this weekend and catch a movie I would highly recommend catching Inside Out in 3D!
