Woman on the Edge by Samantha M. Bailey ~ Book Review

Book Description:

A moment on the platform changes two lives forever. But nothing is as it seems...

'Take my baby.'

In a split second, Morgan's life changes forever. A stranger hands her a baby, then jumps in front of a train.

Morgan has never seen the woman before and she can't understand what would cause a person to give away her child and take her own life.

When the police question Morgan, she discovers none of the witnesses can corroborate her version of events. And when they learn Morgan longs for a baby of her own, she becomes a suspect.

To prove her innocence, Morgan frantically tries to retrace the last days of the woman's life. She begins to understand that Nicole Markham believed she and her baby were in danger. Now Morgan might be in danger, too.

Was Nicole a new mother struggling with paranoia?

Or was something much darker going on?

Pulse-pounding, heartrending, shocking, thrilling. This is one book you won't be able to stop thinking about.

She is the co-founder of “BookBuzz,” a promotional and interactive author event held in New York City and Toronto. She holds a Master of Education in Applied Linguistics and credits that degree with her writing career because she wrote her first (unpublished) novel after taking a course on imagination. She loves reading as much as writing, so when not tapping away on her computer, she’s probably curled up with a really good book.

Review:

Where do I start with Woman on the Edge? Hmm.. a debut Canadian author! Woot! This was a great book. I picked it up and got sucked in right away. I have read numerous thriller, psychological, crime books this fall I thought I can't read more, can I? Answer was a quick yes!

Imagine minding your own business waiting for your train home one evening when a lady with a baby comes towards you looking freaked out or strung out pushing her baby into your arms and telling you to take care of the baby and love her, adding your name in there. Only to watch in horror as she tumbles backwards to her death!?!?! That's what this book is all about. Morgan has always wanted a baby but that thought was derailed when her husband commits suicide because he stole millions from her clients and Morgan knew nothing about it. Morgan downsized her life and tried to lay low and keep to herself.

Things are very different know that she is a witness/person of interest in this woman's death. In a new debut novel of a who dunnit/thriller/suspense type novel you start to wonder if Nicole is losing it or if someone is actually messing with this new mother.

This was a well read plot along with great in depth characters. Yes, of course we all wonder why would Morgan keep doing some of the things she does but it all plays out and had me guessing and actually being wrong. Fast paced, thrilling, psychological that I am sure you will also enjoy.

I give this book a 4.5 stars out of 5! Can't wait to read more from this new Canadian author!
