Author Spotlight Saturday ~ Meet Angela Graham

This week on Author Spotlight Saturday we have Angela Graham who is the author of the Harmony series and a few others. Please welcome Angela to Genuine Jenn!

Tell us a little bit about your book(s) and yourself.

I am happily married to my husband of five years, have three wonderful children and a beautiful feline companion that keeps me company during late night writing binges.

My love of reading has been life long but it was in early 2012 when I was inspired to finally put pen to paper and write my first story. Since then I haven't been able to stop, fueled purely by my passion to write a story and create characters that readers will enjoy.

New Adult romances are my go to books to read as well as to write. They are young, fresh and full of hope. What's not to love!

I currently have five books out. The Harmony Series consists of one novella and three books. The third will be releasing Spring 2014. This series is about a young woman who gets a handsome next door neighbor, who just so happens to be a single father with lots of charm. The other series Stirred Up, I co-wrote with Author S.E. Hall. It consists of two novellas about sexy professionals.

When was your first book published?

Inevitable was my first book and it was published in May 2013.

Are you currently working on anything?

I am currently working on my Harmony Series (Book 3), Indestructible. It has been a long process because I want Cassandra and Logan to get the ending they deserve. I also have many other books planned out that I look forward to starting.

Why did you decide to become an Author?

I don’t think it was a decision as much as a passion that I fell into. One day I was struck with an idea and just started writing. I wrote a few short stories before I wrote Inevitable and never thought about publishing until that was almost complete. Writing was a natural process for me, one that I couldn’t stop doing no matter how hard I tried to cut back my hours at it.

Who and what inspired you to write?

Everything inspires me. People on the street, characters on the TV. For my first story it was characters on a show that I thought hmmm I wonder what would happen if they did this? It grew from there with ideas but ever since I was little I’ve had stories in my head itching to get out.

When you are writing do you like to listen to music? What is on your playlist?

I do. For sure. My top artists on repeat are Ed Sheeran. Plumb, Florence and the machine and The Fray, oh and Jason Walker! So inspiring.

Who is your favorite character in your books?

Oh wow that’s tough! Its like choosing between my kids. I love them all for different reasons. My favorite to write are Jax and Logan. I want to write more for Caleb also so I guess the men haha.

Do you ever take characteristics or nuances from close friends or family when working on character development and if so has that friend or family member noticed and what was their response to it?

I have not only because I like to keep my characters separate from my life but that doesn’t mean that I won’t in future books.

What is your favorite book of all time?

Another hard one! I would say pride and Prejudice. I love Mr. Darcy! I reread his scenes in the book all the time.
