Top 4 Products I love for Dry Skin ~ Review

I have fairly clear skin with little blemishes but I do suffer from dry skin especially during the winter months and the change of the seasons. I know we are heading into spring and dry skin shouldn't be much of a problem anymore but for some people it is. I work in the health care field and wash my hands ALL the time! While washing with some of the harsh antibacterial soaps I get extremely dry and itch hands. Not a great feeling at all.

I have used a couple of these products in the past and a few of the people I support have used them also as they have been recommended by their doctors.

  • Clinically-tested hypoallergenic
  • Gentle, non-irritating
  • Non-comedogenic (will not clog pores)
  • Non-greasy
  • Available in 140mL size
I will admit to being horrible at moisturizing my face but since using the Spectro cream I have been moisturizing at least once daily and have found my skin to be much softer and less stress dots (blemishes). I love the Spectro cleanser and cream and can see myself using it year round as it doesn't have a fragrance. It isn't harsh on my skin, it leaves feeling smooth, clean and moisturized.

Prevex Protectant Cream
A barrier cream that protects skin against external irritants, such as plants, food, cosmetics, household detergents, polishes, and water (wet work).  Prevex Protectant Cream is ideal for those who wash their hands frequently, including nurses, childcare workers and healthcare providers to help relieve dry, chapped hands.
  • Dermatologist recommended brand
  • Protects hands from skin irritants and occupational eczema
  • Resists washing off
  • A little Prevex goes a long way – only apply a dime-size amount to hands and other exposed areas as needed
  • Available in 60g size
Oh my goodness I can't believe I have never seen or used this cream before! I am in love with this cream. You only need a small amount each time as it is a barrier cream and very thick. It helped heal my dry and cracked knuckles better than anything I have used in the past and I have tried a lot. I love that it lasts through a few hand washes. I had cracked knuckles so bad when I started using this cream that they were bleeding each time I put them in latex gloves for working. They hurt so bad but after using this cream all weekend at work my hands looked and felt a million times better. I now carry it in my purse everywhere I go. I also love that it doesn't affect my manicures! Bonus!

Uremol 20 Skin Relief Moisturizing Cream
A cream that increases the skin's moisture level by restoring its natural urea – a moisturizer naturally present in the skin but reduced in dry conditions. Uremol 20 Skin Relief Moisturizing Cream contains 20% urea that has been clinically shown to temporarily relieve skin irritation and soothe extremely dry, itchy skin, leaving it smooth and supple.
  • Dermatologist recommended brand
  • Therapeutic moisturizer for severely dry, itchy skin
  • Fragrance-free
  • Non-greasy and fast absorbing
  • Available in 100g and 225g sizes
This is the cream I have used for years with the people I support. I was first introduced to it back in 2003 as a cream I needed to apply to a few individuals on their dry cracked heels. It helped a lot with their heals and other dry areas of skin. Again you don't need a lot when applying and it makes your skin feel uber smooth!

  1. Thank you Jenn for your post.

I have used the Prevex Cream in the past, when I worked in construction, after my Doctor prescribed it to me for the eczema on my hands.  And yes, it is a great barrier cream.

I have suffered with extremely dry flakey skin (asteatotic eczema and keratosis pilaris) almost year round for close to 48 years, with it steadily getting worse as I aged.

Finally (just recently) I found a couple of products which when I used them together have helped me immensely, and the flakes are now basically completely gone.  Its like a miracle.

The products that have helped me are:

    -   Uremol 10 Urea 10% Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion
    -   Lac-Hydrin 12% Ammonium Lactate Lotion

Also, I use Cetaphil RestoraDerm Nourishing Body Wash.  Maybe I will try the Spectro Cleansers next :)
