As the daughter of a French father and an Eastern European mother, I am a natural born traveler. My trips took me across Europe, to the Americas and Asia. The 2010 spiritual journey to the magical land of Abadiania, Brazil, revealed to me that writing was my life purpose. It also made me realize that everything happens for a reason. I CHOOSE LOVE –  overcome – your fears –to-attract the life you want -by A.G. Biling

One of the best books I have read describing why we should choose love.

From the beginning, the reader will feel flush and warm.  Like a good friend sharing how love can be possible.  By leading an adventurous life, you will feel powerful, and embark on a journey of unmistakable love.  You are surrounded by the universe, wanting you to be happy and loved.

Biling suggests people shy away from love due to fear.  The author intended for all readers to recognize loving your and others is ok.  She wrote during a time necessary for evolution in her own life.  The longing for life’s meaning and purpose sent her on a journey of discovery.

The diagnosis of my own sudden heart failure had me reading more books than I could imagine on life’s purpose.   The author A.G. Billing said she had the longing for life meaning and purpose.

I realized life is a gift.  Finding value and purpose helps us understand our mission here on earth.

A.G. Biling has shared a wonderful mind evolving book full of quotes and her own evolution on love.  She introduces us to the benefits love has, and how living in fear can create illness.  She sets out to show love is not failure.  Instead love is development and enlightenment.

The author emphasizes. “When you follow the inner voice of your heart, change becomes a miracle.  When you resist it, you experience it as adversity.  The universe forces you into the change you are afraid of or reluctant to make, because it wants you to grow, to manifest your full potential.”

Seeing that, “Healing old wounds, and finding your true self is a journey to the best you possible.” “Love attracts love.”  Don’t be fearful, all humans have weaknesses and strengths.

There are so many positive thought provoking topics in this book.  From the realization fear makes you weak and leads to illness, to the myth of I am not worthy of love.

If you or someone you know has been hurt by love, I recommend, “I choose love” and try again.  The book contains fabulous tools, and the realization we are one with the universe.  The change occurs as we evolve and rotate with the universe.  You have a choice to love and respond positively to others.

Biling writes, “If your heart is kind and incapable of hatred, don’t consider it a weakness.  Don’t wish you had a heart of stone.  Stay true to your nature.  Love attracts more love.”

Book Review:

Mon Dieu! I love this series! As the fourth installment of the House of Royals, the author Taylor takes us further into Alivia’s journey into a leadership position she never desired or thought even existed. Even though this is a paranormal book, Taylor’s writing is a contradiction - bring a very human, normal aspect.

Her words create a world of imagery. And, even though you may have a handle on the story with predictions, this is Taylor’s story. She has control over the story, and tells it very well. (This is why we read book - let the author delivery a story in a fantastic way!) There is so much raw emotion and depth in this book. 

Alivia must answer for misgivings. She has played a dangerous game. She willfully entered a love triangle, knowing exactly where her heart belonged. She knew how dangerous and sadistic the King of vampires really was; yet, she toyed with his heart. She was aware of the trouble brewing in her territory, but used others to settle personal grudges. Yes, she will be judged and must answer for her transgressions.   

We are all faced with difficult decisions and the impacts of our actions. Some stories acknowledge the dilemma(s) but breeze through either the decision making process or its concussion(s). Not this book. It’s so real and organic - it gives a natural outlook to the supernatural.  

But, don’t think you can read this fourth book and feel closer. This is Keary Taylor we’re talking about. There is a huge cliff hanger at the end that opens a whole different story and the conclusion (I think) to the House of Royals in book five...

This is a must read, only if you read the first three. And, if you haven’t, do it! C’est bien, Taylor!

 HOW LITTLE WE KNOW by John L DeBour

How little we know is a suspenseful and gut-wrenching novel, and the dangerous story line enhances the suspenseful murder mystery.  From the beginning the reader welcomes the fully-rounded characters struggling to survive in a life of criminal activity.  A relentless struggle evolves to capture the informant and take out the intruder.  The author makes the setting comfortable like Chicago style pizza and old friends.  The two main characters are attractive sneaky people, filled with fake personas and secrets.  They attempt to move forward avoiding the repercussions of the past.  Luke is the ex-mobster who meets an attractive government informant, running from hit men hired by the mob.  The twist comes when Luke begrudgingly admits his connection to these thugs, and the thrilling reality that accidents happen.  These people almost got away with the perfect crime to eliminate everyone.  We live in a small world where your identification and history can be found anywhere by anyone.  The new electronic age of media and snapped evidence revealed a name may change but looks remain the same.  Luke takes control realizing nobody is safe or trust worthy.  He changes the game up using critical time and convenient accidents to intercede the goons.  I rate this book 4 star.  I received this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This book is a good crime mystery.

The Flame and the Arrow by Emigh Cannaday ~ Book Review

Book Synopsis:

Book Review:

Annika Brisby is free-spirited soul with a passion for cooking and making music. Although her path in life is still to be determined, she knows her road doesn’t involve minivans driven by soccer moms or anything “traditional or borring.” Annika is desperately seeking her place in the world, and an impromptu trip to Bulgaria may be the very key to discovering - may be there isn’t a place on earth for her.

After accidentally falling through a closing portal, Annika finds herself in another mythical realm with wood nymphs, elves, unicorns and every other creature only known in fairytales. But, this is no children’s book, and these elves are not short, cookie-baking elves. This romantic story is about self-discovery, and accepting who you are.

This author has an incredible imagination, and a talent for character building. There are a few minor areas for improvement in regards to writing. However, this was the author’s first novel, and I haven’t had the pleasure to read most recent works. And, trust me - I will. And, if escaping into a magical world with a witty, female human that has absolutely no filter, this is your book. I’m going give this one a 3.5 stars with a possible upgrade after devouring the rest of the series.

Fantasy of Fire by Kelly St.Clare ~ Book Review

Book Synopsis:

The Tatuma of Osolis knows what she should do, and the Olina of Nowhere Special finally knows what feels right.  What it really comes down to is, am I brave enough to follow my heart?

Book Review:

I simply don’t know where to start. Olinda has been abuse her entire life, never seen her face, trapped on a strange world where she is trying to prevent her world from invading. Stay with me here. First of all, this story is wonderful for teenage girls, young women and the all around book lover. Olinda is such a strong character, and there is such a wonderful theme in all the of these books.

Olinda displays kindness, compassion and courage at every turn - elements of a true leader or great government. She hates the politics, but knows she has to the game. And, oh boy, can she play the politician game with poise and assertiveness.

In these first three books, Olinda discovers/creates a new persona for herself, including the victim, young girl in love, the fighter, a social activist, strategist, and economic developer. Yeah, that’s what I call character development! 

Although here time on the strange planet Glacium was not by choice, she has had more true friends and life experiences there than as princess on her own world. However, instead of choosing sides, she remains loyal to her people, admits the wrong of her world, and looks for peace between the two dependent worlds. 

And, in true St. Clare fashion, the author leaves readers waiting for the epic fallout and conclusion of Olinda’s story. Will she be able to unit all of her personas to become the fearless leader and politician? Can she find a way for both worlds to exist in peace? Will she ever get her revenge on a cruel mother and her nasty court? I need to know now! But, unfortunately, book 4 is not scheduled to release until the end of the summer of 2016.   

I must say that in Fantasy of Fire, the consistency in writing and flow improves. Therefore, I am upgrading my rating to 5 stars.

Book Review:

I ran across book one of the Tainted Accord series, Fantasy of Frost, and decided to give it a try on whim. And, wow! The storyline is like no other, and I cannot believe that more people aren’t talking about this series or new author, Kelly St.Clare. I haven’t seen such an elaborate creation of a world(s) since the Harry Potter series.

In Fantasy of Frost, we meet Olinda, the Tantum or princess of the fire world. For her entire life, she has been abused, forced to wear a veil and outcasted by the entire royal court. But, her world is about to change by the delegation visit of the neighboring world of Glacium. 

Fantasy of Flight picks up right were book one left us. Olinda is unveiled in the strange world of Glacium. She must fight to stay alive on the enemy’s territory. Stuck in the poorest regions of Glacium, Olinda no longer knows who exactly the enemy is. Civil and social unrest, two worlds battling for resources, and racial prejudice make for a long list of adversaries. 

This four-star fantasy, science fiction story will leave you on the edge of your seat. The writing is a little too simple, even for a teen novel. Yet, Clare still does an excellent job of painting a vivid description of both worlds.

Book Review:

For those of you over 30, ever felt like you have lived multiple lives, and felt a rip in the space time continuum when those past lives collided together? Traci Borum’s Painting The Moon takes us on a literary journey that will hit all too close to home for many of us. As adults, we need to stop weighing risks and just live. Noelle Cooke is forced to face her past lives and dreams when her aunt dies, and Noelle must travel around the world to deal with her inherited estate and the mysteries of unanswered questions that her aunt left behind. What seems as a simple legal transaction turns into a life altering self journey.   

This is an adult fairytale, meaning very plausible - which I love! No fairy godmothers or mystical powers to grant our heroine a happy ever after. It’s just a profound self awareness, rare courage and bravo that can fulfill a little girls dreams and guide a grown woman to true happiness. 

Overall, Borum delivers a story that will have us all reflecting on past experiences, evaluating our decisions, and questioning our futures in this well deserved 4.75 to 5 star story.

House of Kings by Keary Taylor ~ Book Review

About the Author:

Keary Taylor grew up along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains where she started creating imaginary worlds and daring characters who always fell in love. She now splits her time between a tiny island in the Pacific Northwest and Utah, with her husband and their two children. She continues to have an overactive imagination that frequently keeps her up at night. 

Book Review:

House of Kings is the third book in Taylor’s House of Royals series. Let me stress this is more than a trilogy. It is not apparent how many books are anticipated for this series, but Taylor has acknowledged that two more books will follow House of Kings within the year. And, it will take at least two more books to complete this story, judging by where House of Kings leaves us hanging. 

Alivia is officially dead or undead. The story begins with her waking up as a vampire and rightful ruler of the Southern Mississippi vampire coven, a role she inherited from her father’s royal bloodline. Alivia battles accepting who she now is and fighting to remain who she once was, while playing careful politics with a mad king. There is no room for error, and enemies are waiting to trip her around every corner. 

Adhere to these two warnings: Read the series in order, and be prepared for feelings of frustration after this third one. Just when you think the end is insight and answers will be revealed, Taylor pulls the rug from under you, and you will have many more questions. However, it’s the anxiety of the storyline and your anticipation for the next installment that will have you hooked on this series!  

I have a feeling the next two books will have much to reveal. So, for now, I rate this one 3.75 stars.
