Early mornings

Another early morning! 3 in a row. This isn't usual for me in the past two years. Normally I can barely move before 8am unless I HAVE to for the kids or work. I've been to my Dr. a few times in the last two years complaining of being more tired than I should be. VERY TIRED, and yes I have a crazy job which I commute and 2 lovely children but I wasn't this tired after having my second and being up every morning at 5am driving DH to work and then hanging out with two babies all day. I would go to bed around 10 or 11. So my Dr. then referred me to a sleep lab in another city. So I attend a pre-sleep lab visit and the Dr. there feels I should attend the sleep lab as I may in fact have some kind of sleeping problem :( i'm hoping not but a little of me is hoping I do so there is actually a reason behind my being tired, instead of just life! Since that will be abit hard to change.

Yesterday I was up early so that I was ready for my day to start early. My friend Steph had asked me if I could watch her two lil ones yesterday while she was at work. Her children are ages 6 and 3. Our children get along great! it's soo cute to watch them all play. The girls are now finally at that age where they are actually playing together. They love playing house and puzzles! I forgot my oldest had daycare so I was hoping it wasn't going to be a fight to get him there. He showed me how he is such a big boy now and went with a smile! After dropping DS off the other 3 and I headed out to the park for a morning of play! It was a great day and I think I would actually consider daycaring if most of the days would go that way.

After watching the kids all day I went in to work til 10pm, it was a great home to work at which makes for a nice night. One of my supervisors called to ask me if I was willing to do her a favor. The favor is to work in her program for the next two weeks. The downside to it is being all day shifts. 8-3's and 7-3's. It will be nice to be home in the evenings for a couple weeks to have more time with DH but I will miss that time going to the park or beach with the kids. It is only for two weeks and my other option was to go back to the rover position since the position I had gotten in june is cancelled :( I guess I can deal for a couple weeks.

Menu Planning Monday Aug 9-15th 2010

I'm back with Menu Planning Monday, it's been a few crazy weeks. This week I'm not doing much in terms of recipes.. maybe two or three. Just no recipe dinners this week. Okay so on to the week of menu's

Monday - mini meat loaves, mashed potatoes with fresh green and yellow beans (recipe coming soon)
Tuesday - hot dogs, sausages with mushrooms and roasted potatoes
Wednesday - Tortillini tomatoe spinach soup with biscuits (recipe coming soon.. )
Thursday - Roasted kailbasa and potatoes with yellow/green beans on the side (recipe coming soon..)
Friday - Pasta with meat sauce
Saturday - Beef roast with baby carrots, mushrooms and potatoes

My little boy turns into a big boy

Sorry I have been missing for the last week or so. We have been having some problems with our main computer. I will get back on the menu planning Mondays for next week.
This week my lil boy is attending a program called Step into Kindergarten. It's a weekl ong into to kindergarten. He will be going tomorrow for day 3 and he is LOVING IT! I will post pictures of his first day as soon as I get them on a computer. He has been very excited to go to school and this has been a great experience for him so far. When I went to pick Parker up on the first day this other lil boy says "buddy buddy" and ran up to Parker to give him a hug and say bye! it was soo cute to see them interacting after just being around each other for 3 hrs.
Our daycare provider is also the TA helping with the Teacher so it made for a great transition, and the teacher this week is Parker's teacher come the fall. He will be familar with her when he starts.

Abby is also a changed lil girl lately. We have been experiencing the terrible two's even through she wil be 3 at the end of September. I'm hoping this will end sooner than later.
Well I think I will call it a night in a few minutes and head to bed. Til next time~~~

I'm really in need of a new point and click camera. Something that the flash is quick on for fast kids! Also not more than $150 Canadian. With a good zoom/close up. I'm looking for all comments and reviews on cameras you own or know of :) I am looking for something I can carry at all times to take pictures of the kids playing or nature pictures.

Then there is the next step up and it is 12 mp with a 4x optimal zoom and a f/3.0-5.8, 28-112mm lens.. Sells for $149

Menu Planning Monday July 12/10

I missed last week menu planning but then we ended up with the hottest heat I think I have ever experienced. So it was okay since most of the food was macaroni or BBQ. This week I will actually try to stick with the menu.

I am going to ask for everyone's help though. My mother looks after our kids when we are working. I work 3 times a week in the evening and every second weekend. My mother used to make lots of different foods, usually not by a recipe. Since my father passed away 4.5 years ago she doesn't seem to be able to figure out a lot of things. I'm thinking its apprehension but I don't know. So what I am asking is for all the idea's that are quick, easy and budget friendly. Here are the things she has made without me prepping the meal before hand:
- spaghetti
- mac and tuna
- mac and cheese
- Sheppard's pie
- wraps with meat and cheese
- anything in a can
That's all I can think of at the moment. Any help would be great!

Monday - Out at a friends cottage
Tuesday - hmm.. will have to get back to you on this
Wednesday - Egg salad Wraps/Sandwiches
Thursday - Hot dogs and pasta salad
Friday - Hamburger Pasta
Saturday - out for supper at the in laws :)
Sunday - Beef Stroganoff - $5 Dinners

What a week~

This has been one HOT week! We have been sitting in the 40C with the humidity for most of the week. I think yesterday was only 38C or so! We did hit the beach most of this week. Either the lil pool in town or the beach.

This year we have decided to purchase an annual to our local Conservation Authority. It was $45 for the summer and we can visit 5 local areas. I think this will be a well spent $45. The children love to play in the sand and water. Two of the areas are about 40-45 mins away but the one beach is not even 20 mins away. There is wildlife trails we can go to, plus hiking trails and another beach.

Yesterday we went to the beach in the morning before the rain hit. We pulled in and there were no other cars! It was soo nice to have the beach and sand for my children and myself. We got a hour swim in before the thunder rolled in and it down poured!

Last night it continued to rain and soccer for Parker was not canceled. They only played about 30 mins but it was a wet night.

Today feels a bit cooler but I'm working all weekend :( This week I will try my hardest to get my menu planning Monday up. I will try and work on it this weekend.
