Review: 

Book two picks up where the first novella left off! Right in the middle of the sexy heat, OMG will Kim go through with it or not?? I again listened to the audiobook version and loved it for the most part. The only part of this novella I didn't like was when the author used the word cu*t to explain Kim's sex. I am okay with pretty much any term except that, as I find it to be a derogatory term, turning a sexy erotica to something nasty. Other than that this novella is sexy/hot. Dominick, le sigh. I really started to fall for Dominick more in book two. I also feel Kim starts to realize things are a lot different from how she remembers Dominick when she was twelve. She is a naive college student but then again I think a lot of us are when in our late teens, early twenties. Kim hasn't had many boy encounters before hand. In this novella we learn more about Dominick and his feelings. We also hear more about the novels he has written. It is a very quick paced story.

The narrator, Aundrea Mitchell does another fantastic job in book two. I really enjoy listening to Aundrea narrator stories. I find some narrators had to concentrate with and Aundrea is the opposite. I can easily put on the audiobook and commute to work or take a walk with the dogs.

I give this book a 3.5 stars out of 5. I look forward to reading more from Sky and listening to more audiobooks narrated by Aundrea.

For those of you over 30, ever felt like you have lived multiple lives, and felt a rip in the space time continuum when those past lives collided together? Has a trip down memory lane ever left you wondering “Am I really living and how disappointed would my younger self be with me now?” Sorry for the integration, but it is relevant to my review. 

Traci Borum’s Painting The Moon takes us on a literary journey that will hit all too close to home for many of us. As adults, we need to stop weighing risks and just live. Noelle Cooke is forced to face her past lives and dreams when her aunt dies, and Noelle must travel around the world to deal with her inherited estate and the mysteries of unanswered questions that her aunt left behind. What seems as a simple legal transaction turns into a life altering self journey.   

This is an adult fairytale, meaning very plausible - which I love! No fairy godmothers or mystical powers to grant our heroine a happy ever after. It’s just a profound self awareness, rare courage and bravo that can fulfill a little girls dreams and guide a grown woman to true happiness. 

Overall, Borum delivers a story that will have us all reflecting on past experiences, evaluating our decisions, and questioning our futures in this well deserved 4.75 to 5 star story.

Review: 

This is a quick and fun audiobook/novella. Kim has a childhood crush on her sisters best friend, Dominick. Dominick is in love with Kim's sister. He is a lot older than Kim and helps Kim's sister take care of the two of them after their parents die. Kim is love struck and holds onto that love for Dominick for years after he moves away broken hearted because of Kim's sister. 

Years later Kim gets to have Dominick. This is a fun little novella that is a quick listen to or read. I found Kim really naive as she was still imagining Dominick in the same light from when she was twelve, now a college student and still a virgin she thinks Dominick wouldn't have changed over the years. The story gets heated and of course ends with a cliffhanger, ack, really? Well, since the rest of the series is out it is no big deal just carry on to book two. It could have been made into one book instead of three novellas, just my opinion as I am not big on cliffhangers when it comes to romance and erotica. 

I really enjoyed Aundrea Mitchell's narration. Aundrea is easy to listen to and changes tones with the different characters. I found her narration very suiting for Kim's character. I didn't have any trouble focusing on the story or understanding the change in characters. Aundrea doesn't have a thick accent or anything that will draw away from the story. I look forward to listening to book two and more from Sky and Aundrea. 

I give this audiobook a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Book Review:

This is the first installment of what looks like a possible eight installments. The great thing about installment books is that they are short reads for those on-the-go readers. However, installment books are very difficult to review. However, Kery’s first installment of the Make Me series contains a lot of promising elements. A self-made billionaire, a smart journalists and a mysterious pass where both their lives intersect. 

Harper McFadden, a well-accomplished journalist/news editor, has a strange and powerful attraction to software entrepreneur, Jacob Latimer. Jacob automatically recognizes Harper, and is overwhelmed with feelings from a distant pass that he has tried to bury. Harper, however, does not remember Jacob at all. In fact, it would appear that she has somehow blocked all memories from this time period, including of Jacob.

I have to say that Kery does a great job of introducing the series by feeding our imaginations and providing just enough curiosity to anticipate the second installment. For now, I would rate this one 3.5 stars.

A Father's Legacy depicts the journey of Mohammed and his unique life in Nigeria. As a child he endured physical stress from a family that fostered him.  He became very ill, leading to academic setbacks.  His persistence eventually lead him to further success.  His parents played a key role in researching and  helping their son graduate college.  Many other people sponsored Mohammed, and he was very grateful. Financial institutions, and the culture are very different.  Eventually he was able to help others along the way.  He provided medical aide and modern medicine.  His childhood experiences molded his legacy and success.  I realized I am very thankful for all the modern conveniences we use daily.  I give this book three stars.  Thank you for sharing your story.  I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

An enjoyable and easy read. At the start of college, Cory develops strong ties with 2 hot-looking and interesting guys in her life, one being a fellow student called Samson, and the other her flight instructor Cole. There is no love triangle and there is no cheating involved, although there is definitely a magnetic friendship with Samson and chemistry with Cole too. This novel differs from many other YA books in the fact that Cory is going to aviation school and for once her roommate is a devout Christian instead of the usual party-going girl. Also the choice of her major is quite original, being a pilot is her lifelong dream. It was really entertaining to read about her first steps in aviation and the procedures of the aviation fraternity. I instantly liked Cory, her no-nonsense attitude, her adorable clumsiness, and the fact that she’s not stuck-up, like Adeline, at all. With two boys vying for her attention, and Cory who feels good with both of them, you can’t be surprised that drama and heartbreak is inevitable. But who’s heart will be broken, will it be Cory’s perhaps? You’ll have to read to find out! I really liked the ending too, it leaves a small window open for possible change in the sequel.

Review: 

This book follows the characters of Booker and Lara. I find this series can easily be a stand alone as the author always includes background from the last book. This is book five and I have only read 3 but hope to go back and read the first two soon. If you like were-lynx and were-bobcats, with romance and battle these series is great. TNG is a group of high commanders in the city of Laurelwood, including the Senator, Sage. They are working on taking over the city with monster/super were-lynx that they have created. This book we learn more about the motives that Marcus has against the colony. TNG will be exposed but to what measure will the were-lynx colony have to go to get the humans to see what Senator Sage and TNG are doing. Asia uses her reporter job to help get information out to the humans of Laurelwood. 

Booker and Lara test the waters of their relationship, battling negatives that both have been working through over the years. This book talks about PTSD and child molestation. Both Booker and Lara have healing power and can use it on each other to help then heal from their pasts. I love these two.

The characters are all well developed and if you read the whole series, each book follows a set of characters. You will feel connected to all of the cats after reading this series. The story is a steady pace and will keep you wondering what will happen next and if the group can over take the bad guys.

I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars and I look forward to reading more from Lynn Crandall.

Book Review:

House of Kings is the third book in Taylor’s House of Royals series. Let me stress this is more than a trilogy. It is not apparent how many books are anticipated for this series, but Taylor has acknowledged that two more books will follow House of Kings within the year. And, it will take at least two more books to complete this story, judging by where House of Kings leaves us hanging. 

Alivia is officially dead or undead. The story begins with her waking up as a vampire and rightful ruler of the Southern Mississippi vampire coven, a role she inherited from her father’s royal bloodline. Alivia battles accepting who she now is and fighting to remain who she once was, while playing careful politics with a mad king. There is no room for error, and enemies are waiting to trip her around every corner. 

Adhere to these two warnings: Read the series in order, and be prepared for feelings of frustration after this third one. Just when you think the end is insight and answers will be revealed, Taylor pulls the rug from under you, and you will have many more questions. However, it’s the anxiety of the storyline and your anticipation for the next installment that will have you hooked on this series!  

I have a feeling the next two books will have much to reveal. So, for now, I rate this one 3.75 stars.

 I had fun with these characters.  Mitch gets his dads ashes in a burger box.  Ian played in a band . Sam was the athlete and proud teacher.  Little Lil , had little kids. Andrea the mom, bless her heart, she had her son blurting- out dad's dead.  The kids don't want the burden of planning a memorial service or whatever.  After all dad did abandon them.  I get a funny kick the new wife is a spiritual psychic and who will hex them if they contact her.  Andrea won't stand for this behavior.  Her children have a right to know how and where their father died.  Now bring the nephew Harley into the scene and we have a young man trying to deal with girls, religion, and solving a murder.  Turns out Tilda didn't want them digging around because she had one heck of a past to cover up.   The kids are too busy bickering to help.  Andrea and Harley travel and conspire to find out the truth. This turns into a who done it mystery with a scavenger hunt for clues.  The plot thickens when they realize the new wife. Tilda may be a black widow.  The end result is the unveiling of Mark's ashes and the circumstances surrounding his death announcement.  Andrea realizes some people never change.  When life brings lemons make lemonade and have a party!  This was a fun comedic read, light, with mystery.  I give this three stars out of 5.  The pace stayed a little slow in the middle with the plot.  I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very nice book to read, with a story that captivated me from the first pages. I could feel the innocence in a child’s heart and the consequences of an unstable familial environment.

The story is told mostly from the main character’s perspective, as she remembers how her feelings for Isaiah appeared and transformed into love. The reader gets to experience life and some of its main events through the eyes of a third grade girl till her twenties. The author adapted the wording and expressions to those of a five year old, then a thirteen year old, to a teenager and then to a young adult’s. to the end, the narration shifts to the third person, underlining the haze in Lorraine’s mind.

Their friendship evolves in time, there is no rush and they both learn how to act around each other. Their first kiss is probably the purest moment in the book, followed by the promise to always care for the other. Still, when Isaiah’s parents get divorced, the pain, sadness and hate change the sweet little boy and they fall apart. The misunderstandings and lack in communication take over their relation and by end of university they become strangers.

I must admit that in the beginning I had the impression Isaiah was much older than Lorraine. The boys’ discussions were more evolved, even at a young age.

All in all, this is the story about how we experience love at different ages, how a child sees family and is affected by family discussions. It’s a story about friendship in time, love and forgiveness. My rating: 4 starts.
