Mother's Day Gift Idea: Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures {Book Review}

Are you looking for a fun gift for Mom or a friend who is a mother? Why not give them the new book by Amber Dusick called Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures?  If you are looking for a way to get Mom to laugh this will make the perfect gift. Maybe include a note saying something like "Don't read this in a quiet Dr's office as you will find yourself laughing out loud", you will get weird looks for sure.

Book summary:

"The drawings aren't very good, Mama."
—Crappy Boy, age 5

Of course you love being a parent. But sometimes, it just sucks. I know. I'm Amber Dusick and I started my blog Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures because I needed a place to vent about the funny (and frustrating) day-to-day things that happened to me as a parent. Turns out, poop is hilarious! At least when you're not the one wiping it up.

This book won't make your frustrating moments any less crappy. But these stories about my Crappy Baby, Crappy Boy and my husband, Crappy Papa, will hopefully make you laugh. Because you're not alone. And sometimes the crappiest moments make the best memories. Parenting is wonderful! And also, well, you know.

Purchase the book on Harlequin for $13.56, available in e-book format also. Released April 2013.

My thoughts: Are you looking for a book that you can pick up here and there and not worrying about forgetting what is going on? I know as a busy mom that sometimes I don't have a lot of time to get too involved in long novels. This is perfect as it is short little stories you can pretty much pick up for 5 or 10 minutes (like if you actually get your time out in the bathroom without a kid following you in). It is also very entertaining, not really a book to read in a quiet Dr's office if you don't want to burst out laughing and have everyone look at you. Amber hits the nail on the head with a lot of funny things kids and well parents say and do. A lot of them I was shaking my head either saying to myself oh my kid did that or I could see one of mine doing that. The crappy pictures add great fun to this book, nothing like a stick family peeing on the side of the road with tons of stars in the night sky, hahaha. This is a great book to add to your to-be-read list and also as a great Mother's Day or any other occasion gift! Mom's all over the world are sure to laugh out loud with this great book!

I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!
