Author Spotlight Saturday ~ Meet Rebecca Rohman & a Giveaway!

This week I would like to Welcome Rebecca Rohman to Genuine Jenn! I was introduced to Rebecca through a book tour I did in the past for Love, Lies & the D.A (read my review). We are happy to have you here today!

Tell us a little bit about your book(s) and yourself.

I am a wife and designer currently living in the Northeastern United States. I was a former Sales Manager for a tourist magazine, and for many years prior, I first did Marketing for a jewelry company, and later a fine wine distributor. About fifteen years ago, I started writing my first romance novel, Uncorked just to purely entertain myself. I realize then I thoroughly enjoyed the process. I now write contemporary romance novels with elements of suspense.

When was your first book published?

Uncorked. The story was published in February of 2013. My second novel Love, Lies & The D.A. was released on Tuesday, February 18, 2014.

Are you currently working on anything?

I just started work on my new book. It’s too early to share any details ;)

Why did you decide to become an Author?

When I decided to complete my first novel under the guidance of an editor, I realized that I enjoy the process of writing, from thinking of creative ways to use words, to doing the necessary research to make those words come alive. This process made me mostly discover something about myself. I enjoy creating stories that take me into a different place, a world other my own— A world I hope others will enjoy as well.

Who and what inspired you to write?

I don’t know that anyone inspires me write it’s a process I enjoy, and that’s why it do it. As for what inspires me, I sometimes I think for hours or days then I’ll get an idea. Sometimes it helps when I brainstorm with my hubby, something he says might trigger an idea in my mind then I work from there.

When you are writing to you like to listen to music? What is on your playlist?

I love most genres of music but these are the artists I listen to the most when writing. Bond Yanni Adele Bruno Mars

Who is your favorite character in your books?

Jada from Love, Lies & The D.A. She’s an independent, feisty no-nonsense-type of gal. Despite that, she knows how to ask for, or accept help when she needs it. In addition, she’s strong and goes all out for the ones she loves.

Do you ever take characteristics or nuances from close friends or family when working on character development and if so has that friend or family member noticed and what was their response to it?

Definitely, the relationship between Jada and her brother Bobby was mimicked after a pair of siblings that I know, and no, they have not noticed or said a thing. Of course, I never told them that they were my inspiration. :)
