Traveling to ShesConnected #sccto

I am back from the ShesConnected Conference that was held at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto! It was a fun filled packed two days! I don't even know where to begin, I know I will have a few up coming post about this conference and about my next one in a week and a half. I also have a ton of other posts to get posted - reviews, giveaways, family posts, tips on saving money and events. Check back regularly and I am sure there will be something new almost everyday (now that I put that out there I hope to push myself to finish everything I want to share with you).

On September 29th, 2011 I was up and moving early (about 5:15) to be able to leave with hubby at 6 when he leaves for work. I wanted to spend a few minutes with him before heading out on the train and also save some money. The train was coming in  at 6:31 am and I did not want to miss it that's for sure.

It has been years since I have been on a train and the first time since our new "Little" station was built just this past summer. When I say little I mean little, there is really only seating for maybe 7 people tops! When the train stopped they overshot the station that is how little it is, hehe. I had to get on at car 4 and walk up to car 3 to get on the train with Alyssa from A Motherhood Experience. The ride up was comfortable and a lot of fun traveling with a buddy especially Alyssa who I have known for years! Don't forget complimentary WiFi! Yay there was LOTS of tweeting going on!

When we arrived in Toronto we headed out to walk to the Sheraton Centre as it was a close walk. About 15 minutes. The streets in Toronto are not suitcase friendly though with all the bumps and street car tracks. Also people don't really like to move out of the suitcase way and they can be hard to steer when you are not used to traveling.

The Sheraton Centre is Huge! With a two story waterfall in the middle of the hotel! Tons of shops and restaurants, conference rooms and 42 or 43 floors of rooms! We were on floor 34, that was bad enough for my ears every time I was up or down the elevator my ears would pop. I wont fly anytime soon that is for sure!
The rooms where not bad at all. We had to big double beds with a big screen TV (not that we had much time for that on our trip). We did have a nice night view out our window, during the day you could see construction.
I will break my trip up into a few posts so not have super long posts. My next post will be about the ShesConnected Conference itself and who I met!

Until then, do you follow Canadian Coupon Mom on Twitter or Facebook? I post there usually daily, conversations and new post links. You can also subscribe to my email newsletter for updates on new posts, it can be found up on the left hand side of the home page :)

Have a good Sunday evening!

It was a ton of fun ladies. Make sure you are a member of ShesConnected. There will be something going on in April 2012 but I don't have anymore information yet.
