Knitting ~ Holland Cowl

One of my very first knitting projects was the Web Hat. I  made it out of a Shetland Tweed in brown and just love it! I was in Michaels craft store the other day and found the wool on sale and decided I would buy two more balls and make a cowl and some mitts for the fall/winter.

I was already looking for the prefect yarn or wool to make this fun and easy cowl pattern called Holland Cowl (it's on Ravelry for free). This pattern uses stitches like yarn over, and sl1-k2tog. It was speeding right along when I decided to throw in another load of laundry and left my knitting on the kitchen table. You would think I would have learned from the first time I did this but nope. When I got back upstairs, literally a couple minutes, I heard a big commotion and found my son trying to get my knitting back from the dog who stole it and ran off.
I was two rows away from being half way done when this happened. Since I am not good at figuring out where to pick back up my stitches I had to frog it and start all over again.

Here is my finished Holland Cowl, I love it and can't wait to wear it with my Web Hat. My daughter also thinks it could work as a headband/ear warmer. What do you think?

  1. Dare I say it... "..The DOG *ate* your *Homework*..?!"

Actually, your Daughter is correct... That tighter style of Cowl, when folded, make great Ear-Warmers. I usually make simple Ribbed ones, fold them in thirds and use them as Ear-Warmer-Headbands to hold down my Ball Cap - which I wear with my hair through the strap hold... Works great that way!

    BTW, GOOD SAVE!
    :-D
