South Beach Girl (Book 1) by Ayele Summer ~ Book Review

Book Description:

Bad girl gone good?

Beverly Love is full of secrets and South Beach is the perfect place to keep them hidden, but for how long? What will she do when the reason love seems unattainable to her is the very reason behind her success?

This is a sizzling slice of life novella about a young woman on the verge of discovering love as she decides who she wants to be.

Review:

This was a quick read, I found it a bit lacking in back shadowing and wish we had learned more about the main character Beverly's background. It was very quick into and then jumped right into present day (which is a few years after the prologue). I found this to be an okay read, I found myself thinking that Beverly just run around, drinking, doing drugs and having sex. Her life was all about partying. I think this may be a better read for someone younger than myself that is into the club scene. The story was an interesting one, poor girl gets taken care of by an older gentleman. We don't learn too much about Ken but we can tell that he supports her financially so she can party and do her photography on the side. Bev meets a cute Italian who is on vacation. This makes her rethink her life and how she is an escort to Ken and finally thinks she is ready to move away from this relationship and fall in love.

I give this novella a 3 out of 5 stars. I would have loved it to have been more in depth and tell us more about Beverly before she meets Ken and their continued relationship.
