OutGROW OutPLAY Kids Sale Review

Yesterday bright and early I headed out to the Nepean OutGROW OutPLAY Mega Kid's Sale. If you haven't heard of this sale it began in September of 2008 when Cas Robinson found there were only limited options to sell the mountains of new and like new kids stuff she had.

The sales are called OutGROW OutPLAY because kids ALWAYS out grow or out play their stuff before it has really become old. Most of us spend a fortune on kids things and these sales are a great way to pick up a bit of extra cash from our children's used things.

There are FIVE sales around the Ottawa area. Kanta-Stittsville, Kemptville, Carleton Place, Ottawa-Orleans and Ottawa-Nepean. There is a sale close to almost everyone!
If you are interested in consigning here is some information you will be interested in. When consigning with OutGROW OutPLAY, consignors make 65%-75% of the sale price from their items. To have your items in a sale there is a $15 registration fee. This can be reduced by volunteering for shifts at the sale. For each shift you volunteer for reduces the registration fee and increases the amount you make on your items sold as follows:

$15 reg. fee & allow the ladies at the sale to sell your items you earn 65%
$10 reg. fee, volunteer one shift and earn 70%
$10 reg. fee, volunteer two shifts and earn 75%

Consignors organize their stuff, input your price online, print and tag from the comfort of your own home. Then drop off your items during their designated drop-off times. Consignor 101 manual is available to make it simple and fun to sell your kids outgrown stuff. You receive your cheque within 5 days after the sale.

If you are interested in consigning head over to their consignor page.
Now for the shopper! This place is AWESOME! When you get into the sale everything is divided up into sections, baby girls/boys items, toys are divided baby/toddler unisex, girls, boys, clothes are the same, strollers, big toys, bikes etc. It is a maze of great stuff. I loved that it is divided this way so then you can head over to what you are really there for or just browse all around. Makes your shopping experience a breeze and no getting frustrated as you look through things and sizes you don't want.
The ladies working the sale were helpful and very friendly. Volunteers hand out bags to the shoppers, help find things and help out at the check out line. I had a wonderful shopping experience. I didn't go for much but they had tons of things for sale with great prices. I look forward to attending my next OutGROW OutPLAY sale. Next one up is Carleton Place May 27th & 28th, 2011. I hope to see you there!
